With 20 years of experience as a professional school counselor, Sarah has had the pleasure of working with hundreds of students with different passions, goals, and personalities. She knows the challenges our teens and families face when they start the college search process. Sarah uses techniques like motivational interviewing, strength-based coaching, and humor in her approach with students. She believes that a good working relationship is key to the college advising process. She strives to balance parents' wishes with her students' strengths and abilities. When students can be honest and genuine, the best college fit falls into place more easily.

Sarah knows that in order to be successful in our interconnected world, experience among other cultures is key.  Sarah has lived this value with extensive travel during her life. She lived and taught English in Japan for three and a half years and learned Japanese while she was there. She also studied Spanish in Oaxaca, Mexico. Her curiosity and compassion for people from other cultures inform her work with everyone.
